The latest edition of iJoomla SEO will allow you to manage and control your Metatags, Keywords, Redirects, Internal links and Replacements of template classes like "contentheading" into standard HTML headings. We find this component very useful, since it will allow you to do this from one single and well organized component interface in the backend of your Joomla site. As we have experienced with several web sites, iJoomla SEO will save a considerable amount of time when optimizing a site for search engines.
Importance of Metatags
You might not be aware of this, but Google does not use keyword meta tags in their web search ranking as explained by Matt Cutts in Google's Webmaster Central.
Other serach engines like Yahoo might. As you can read at Google Webmastercentral there might be other reasons to keep your keyword metatags up-to-date, but without spending too much time on it. This is exactly where iJoomla SEO comes in.
SEOmoz.org published a complete list of ranking factors rated by a panel of 72 SEO experts. You can check the importance of these ranking factors yourself here.
How To Use iJoomla SEO For SOBI2
We use SOBI2 for the free Joomla Video Tutorials. iJoomla SEO allowed us to manage the metatags and keywords for over 150 video tutorials in less then one hour! Not only didn’t we need to open each entry in SOBI seperatley, iJoomla SEO allowed us to control the title metagag as well form one place!
Let's Have A Look How iJoomla SEO Works With SOBI
In the MetaTags-section we just selected Sobi from the dropdown and selected Listings to get a complete list of our Sobi entries.
Click the Item Title checkbox to select all entries on the page and hit the "article title to title metatag"-button. All article titles are copied to the Title Metatags in one go. The next step could be to add keywords to the Title Metatag. In this example we added "Joomla" as a keyword. Don't forget to save from time to time. Just hit the Apply-button to keep the page you are working in open.

Keep all Sobi entries checked and hit the "title metatag to keyword metatag"-button. All Title Metatags are now copied to the Keyword Metatag.

Keep all SOBI2 entries checked and hit the "Generate Description"-button. Within a matter of seconds, you'll have a description for all the checked pages.

The total number of characters available in the Description Metatag will drop dynamically. As you can see in our case the number in the Description Metatag dropped to 0, stating that the Descriptions Metatags are too long.
Every Metatag can be changed and updated from this page, so we updated the Description Metatag to our likings manually. As a reference you can click the View-link to see the article in a popup window or click the Item Title-link to open the article in a new window.
As soon as you are done, you can sort each entry by Sobi Category, articles with missing titles, metatags, keywords descriptions or any missing tag or sort by the entries state (Published, Unpublished, Archived). This will give you quick access and full control of the current status of your Metatags.

iJoomla SEO will help you manage your metatags and keywords by giving you access to statistics that will show you how many keywords are up or down in Google and how many metatags are missing. There are several online services that offer this as well, charging you USD 50 up to USD 200 per month. With the one time USD 99 for iJoomla SEO this valuable feature is included.

Supported Joomla Components
Currently iJoomla SEO supports default Joomla sections, categories and articles and several iJoomla components as well as Sobi, Mosets Tree and K2. Especially for Joomla sites using K2 iJoomla SEO can be of interest, since K2 will allow you to show tags per article, based on the articles keywords.
Merav Knavo from iJoomla stated that more plugins will become available shortly for popular Joomla extensions like VirtueMart. So keep an eye on iJoomla SEO’s online feature list, documentation, tutorials and news, since it can be a wonderful help to you in your Joomla SEO efforts.
What Can Be Concluded From Using iJoomla SEO
In general, I enjoyed this component, it saved me a ton of time, exactly as advertised. iJoomla’s web site will give you further details on all features, including Video Tutorials and an extension specific FAQ.
You can try the extension at no risk with a 10 day money back guarantee. I recommend iJoomla SEO to Joomla users who like to go the extra mile on SEO and who are looking for a big time saver.
